FRANKFURT MOTOR SHOW: Eterniti Hemera 'Super SUV'

Mystery debutant marque aims to make a splash at Frankfurt with an ultra-exclusive take on the SUV genre

Mystery new luxury brand Eterniti recently provided a teaser image of its 'Super SUV' that it will reveal at next week's Frankfurt motor show, and now the company has followed up with another image and smattering of additional details.

The London-based boutique carmaker bills itself as an independent company, even though the basis for the Hemera is provided by the Porsche Cayenne's platform.

However, the chassis is said to have been thoroughly reworked for the Hemera, and it also gains a revamped interior and carbon-composite body panels.

Eterniti has recruited some renowned boffins for the project, and the engineering team is led by Alastair Macqueen, who was responsible for the development of the Jaguar XJ220 supercar and was behind successful Le Mans 24-Hour assaults with both Jaguar and Bentley.

The company has also roped in former F1 ace and Le Mans winner Johnny Herbert to assist with development and serve as a brand ambassador for the start-up firm.

Eterniti claims it will create a new niche with the Hemera, which will reportedly cost around £150,000 in the UK (equating to an Oz price circa $400K, if it makes it to our shores), and this princely outlay will bring a limousine-like cabin with twin reclining rear seats, iPads and a drinks chiller.

According the PR blurb, Eterniti is "backed by a group of international investors and has been established by people who have a passion for cars".

The company says it is establishing a London hub featuring a showroom, car build and service centre, and a separate atelier where customers can discuss their requirements and create a bespoke specification for their cars, which will be hand-built on site by British craftsmen and technicians.

The London facilities will allegedly open later this year, with further showrooms in key international cities to follow from 2012.
